Peak Rail

Fancy a trip on a Steam Train then pop along to Peak Rail.

Peak Rail runs Steam and Diesel engines along a 4 mile stretch of their preserved railway operating between Rowsley South and Matlock. The line is open throughout the year and forms part of the old Midland Railway’s line between Manchester Central and London St Pancras which closed in 1968.

Churnet Valley Railway

The Churnet Valley Railway takes you on a journey back to the classic days of railway travel on a rural line that passes through beautiful countryside known as Staffordshire’s “Little Switzerland”.  In addition to the 10½ mile return journey along the valley, there’s a taste of contrasting moorland scenery on the 10-mile round trip along the Cauldon branch to Ipstones.
